Introduction
This document is the repository of all BERT requirements not captured in the Use Cases.
Functionality
· Logging and Error Handling:
Errors are not logged. Errors outputed to screen.
· Security:
System will not be accessible to or by the internet. A login and password
will be required for all users.
Usability
Human Factors:
All information generated by the BERT will be displayed in the standard Windows-style
GUI's.
Additional points regarding system function are;
· Text should be easily visible from one meter.
· The user should be able to manipulate all windows other that message boxes;
i.e. maximized, minimized, closed.
· All buttons should be obvious and unambiguous.
· The user should be able to terminate the application at any time.
Reliability
· Performance:
The goal of the development team is to have the application process a request
and complete a search through 100 web pages within 30 seconds, 90% of the
time.
Implementation Constraints
The application is specifically designed to work within JCU's Unix environment and as such is confined to the Unix domain. Any decision by JCU to change the environment of it's file servers from Unix to something else would render the current version of the application useless. This is an extremely unlikely event in the near future.
The Web Link Mapping Tool relies on Java and it's ability to function within the Unix environment. Because of the scope of these applications we see no major constraints in the distant future.
Interfaces
The WLMT is designed to work on the standard JCU networked computer
setup - ie a networked computer with at least a screen, keyboard and mouse.
