Animal poems - Rabbit
Rabbit
... cute, hyperactive, naughty
Adorable little fluffy white tail,
Whiter than snow when it's cold and yet sunny.
Adorable little nose and long ears,
No matter your origins we all love a bunny.
In so many countries, you represent a symbol of luck,
And you breed like a rabbit, because you love a good pluck.
You represent abundance, in love, life and play,
Yet your nature is timid, so you often run away.
Sometimes you are shy and anxious,
Sometimes you are spontaneous.
You can represent fertility and wealth,
You avoid all things extraneous.
You are happy in the wild,
And you seem happy in captivity.
I hear you can get naughty,
With your sexy hyperactivity.
Life gets interesting,
If you develop have a habit.
Of chasing after a nervous,
Yet amorous rabbit.
Kids love to play with you,
You just want to eat.
But at easter you deliver them chocolate eggs,
Which they think is neat.
Your cute ears I could nibble,
You are equally as sweet as honey.
No matter your origins,
We all love a bunny.

About this Poem... This is one in a serious of poems I've written about various animals. The motivation, is that I love the idea of spirit animals, and I decided, one day, to ask many of my friend what animal they think best represents their personality. In some cases the poems are written with the person in mind... and sometimes it's purely about the animal. Read more about my process here.
