A new support project I've started - think of it as a giant notepad.

A photo outside the IMB building... it's an impressive building if you ever stop by - right out the front of the uni - can't miss it. February 2005:

  • 26/2 | IMB..... first impressions
People in my IMB building are awesome. Very smart people, some already doctors, some PhD and a couple of honours students too. Two of them, Michael (who's surprisingly shy around girls for a german) and cheong-xin (who's the coolest Malaysian on earth - we call him CX for short) convinced me to join a choir, and we've also done a couple of other fun things together. Haven't robbed any banks yet, but I need time to corrupt these people. :-P

  • 23/2 | CX - my favourite Manalysian
CX rocks! Like me he can have fun and dance without alcohol. He also has his own website {CX's website}. What kind of nerd/overachiever has their own website! Honestly! CX and I have a lot in common really. He's the asian version of me - it's like looking into a mirror. We're already great friends and he's a good dancer; the two of us have no problems getting up to dance in a club when no-one else is up. I think we should make a pact that we both help each other find nice girlfriends.

  • 22/2 | Club boy
So far am member of: lego club, british humour appreciation club, latin dance club (soon), discount club, and IT club. So much for forging a new identity. <cough>nerd</cough>.

  • 20/2 | Learning guitar
I'm learning guitar at the moment. Guitar is pretty fun actually, not as complicated as it looks either (although finger picking could take years to learn).

  • 15/2 | Back online - now with cable
I have Internet again!!! Woot! Somehow I survived without it for over two weeks, but cable was worth the wait. You might see me boasting about it and msn messenger.

  • 10/2 | Something about a PhD
As for uni, it's a bit hard to tell where I stand, but I think it's going pretty good. They're not letting me tutor any subjects this first semester, which kind of sucks, but at least I have a student card. I finally have a security card and desk space in the IMB building .... and now I finally have internet I suppose I better get working. Yer, I have no idea what I'm doing yet. Something about a PhD, and the rest is scary.

  • 5/2 | New friends
Have made heaps of friends. Even asked a girl out!!! Not that she said yes, but ... well it's a long story, but the great news is there appears to be plenty of great girls around - not like in Cairns where you're hard pressed to find a girl with an opinion .... actually, in a computing degree you're just hard pressed trying to find a girl.

  • 3/2 | Who's the turkey!
Albert and I caught a baby bush turkey using a laundry basket trap and sheer skill baby! Albert and I are a good team.
