Uni friends & Bob's wedding Paul Stasuik visited me today! He came up for Bob Kalik's wedding,
and so Jon and Linda took us both to a really good indian restaurant in town.
Lots of fun. They all said they were impressed by my "pad",
but being nerds they were more interested in my computer than noticing my
decor. We went to a great Indian restaurant. Paul is still a 30-something
year old kid. :-)

not warming I think my girl housemates think I'm strange or something. I mean,
it's not that I'm NOT strange ... it's just that I'm also a really nice guy,
and they still haven't warmed-up to me. It's a shame too, because they all
seem (at least initially) like nice girls; I just have to wait several months
before I'm no longer the new guy I guess. I'm made lots of friends pretty
quickly, but those closest of all are the least close, if you know what I
mean. Or maybe I'm just tired. Jen told me my best bet in this house is to
not speak unless spoken too. Half a year later I would regret taking this
advice.

warming party Day after my birthday we had a surprise housewarming party!!!
It was so much friends ... heaps of people showed up, and they were all really
nice. Albert conned me in to buying alcohol, for the first time EVER .....
I bought fifty dollars worth of stuff, which Albert said would last me forever.
Four hours later and it was half-gone. Never leave bottles out on a table
at a party. I had six drinks standard drinks that night, my new highest record,
so I was pretty tipsy, but I could still dance; and dance we did. There were
a few really nice, friendly down-to-earth type girls that night I talked to,
and when we finally went out clubbing I was surprised one of them just got
up and danced in the middle of nowhere ..... oi! that's my trick. Anyhow,
we danced together, and she was rEALLY good, we were on fire! I think I just
love dancing, but it's always twice as much fun when you have a good partner.

boy dance My birthday ROCKED!!!! I'm a member of uqdance {www.uqdance.net/},
which is just a little, free club, but heaps of fun ... a group of us met
and went to this awesome latin dancing place at Southbank. It was just this
open area , sheltered between two restaurant with speakers set up. At the
beginning of the night there were just two people dancing, but then our group
got dancing, and an hour later the whole place was crowded with people, all
doing latin dancing. I've met some very nice girls at uqdance, but unfortunately
my friend CX found out they're all already taken. Damn ... all the good ones
are taken. Have a very interesting story about missing the City Cat, and so
Roger (president of uqdance, and very nice guy), CX and I had to get into
Roger's tiny 3 door echo with four Malaysian girls CX invited. Luckily they
were all tiny, and fit in the back seat; CX was in the boot, and we made jokes
about peoples age the whole trip. Proved beyond doubt my theory that we all
suck at predicting age across races - one of the Malay girls guess my age
as twenty eight! Bloody hell! My other friends say I look under 18 still.
Oh, one more lesson learnt: Malaysian girls don't run, even if running late
for a ferry ... easier to carry one under each arm. :-)
15/3 | Tanya's
gift Big Jon {big
jon's site} has now moved down to Brissy and is living with Tanya (and
Rachael is also there at the moment). Tanya got me a present for my birthday
I'd rather not talk about, but has scared me for life.... it came from a sex
shop down-town..... enough said.
10/3 | I have
my own guitar! I bought a guitar today! Wohoo!
8/3 | Ptttfff...
project Still have no idea what my project is, but hopefully as I keep reading
books on cell biology, and talking to academics it will become clearer.
