  • 08/07 | Biobusiness Retreat

    > Lots of stuff happened last month. Me so lazy, me going to write it as bullet points.
    > Went to "biobusiness retreat" - sponsored by IMBCom (a commercial institution within our building which helps patent intellectual property and turn it into profit) and it was awesome!
    > Lots of great speakers, plus they gave out more chocolate and prizes than you can poke a stick at. I now have a pirate sword! FINALLY!
    > Met some great people in the building, and delivered a "bio pitch" with a team of 3 girls (plus me).
    > I was CEO of team SASSI - we didn't win, but I'd like to think ours was the funniest and most sassy. :-)

  • 08/07 | Gold Coast Trip

    > Went to the gold coast with debbie. Was lots of fun to get away...
    > Did shopping, watched Shrek, played mini golf, went to the top of Q1 (a building not a boat) and lazed around. Nice and relaxing
    > Oh... I'm going to Cairns soon with Debbie - from 28 th June till August 4.

  • 08/07 | Seminar Fun

    > Was invited to give a seminar at a "winter school of mathematical and computation biology" which we host at the IMB.... it was only a 20 minute seminar, and part of a "visible cell" session with a great guy call oliver, but I was still a bit nervous. In the end it went REALLY well though... it got exactly the type of reaction I wanted.... probably helped that there were a few (easily impressed) undergrads in the crowd.
    > A week later I gave a cell biology forum - which wasn't as good. My supervisor told me I did well, but I struggled with the questions, and during the presentation itself I definitely didn't get the same positive vibe from the audience I have on other occasions... I guess mostly because group leaders look at work from a critical perspective..... oh well.. all over now. I better start getting a bit more serious about software creation.
    Cheerio everyone.

A gigantic gorilla accuses my girlfriend of cheating at golf. I knew it! That biarch ! :-P
