Hey everyone, great news! I just got confirmed. Woot!!! :-)
For those of you not in the know, confirmation is an important milestone in
a PhD which involves writing a confirmation report, presenting
a confirmation talk, and doing aconfirmation
seminar. After all of that they decide if you are (#1) doing a valueable
and viable project and (#2) have made significant progress. And I passed ...
yay!
It does take a load off your mind, but the bad news is the verdict is I have
to learn more biology. Nooo!
I have a HEAP of papers to read. Bummer. I have to give the same presentation
again in a week too.
In other news, after months of not checking, I just discovered this site is
doing pretty well! I'm getting an average of 17 unique visitors a day to and
last month (April) I got almost 500 visitors to this site. And if you think
I'm lying then I'll show you a graph ... irrefutable proof that people are
visiting my site ..... absolutely no way I could have photoshoped it - honest.
This month I'm hoping I break the 500 mark. My site's google rating is still
sitting on 3... but hey; maybe one day it will climb to 4 and my life will
be complete. Better yet, maybe one day soon I'll get a girlfriend, and I'll
have a life. :-P
I have no luck with girls ... it's not fair.
Anyhow, the reason I mentioned the visitor numbers because I realized I haven't
updated my site for a while. Been too busy I guess. All these little projects
I want to work on, but not enough time unfortunately, but hey; I'm sure I'll
add some exciting new content ONE of these days; I just know better than to
promise it. Maybe one day I'll finally upload some new photos - I don't think
I've done that since I made the site in January of last year!
Anyhow, until my next entry that's about all I have to report. Haven't really
done anything wild, new or exiting for a while because of my confirmation
report. Oh, rumor has it Tristan is coming to visit our house for a few days
next week; so maybe he'll be the first non-family member to use my new mattress
I keep in case I have visitors. Visitors; yay! Our house is running really
well at the moment .... there is no fighting, no drama .... compared to last
year it's been bliss! We started a haiku book and I'm thinking about putting
some of the entries on my quotes page. My favourite ones are mine.
But no promises!
