"What type of flower is it?" "..... Yeah, it's a yellow one"October 2006:

25/10 | Busy.

Wow, yeah, I've been really busy this month. So busy I'm going to have to write about it in point form and then go to bed. I:

  • Went to a big "CellBio" conference thingy. Was a pretty sweet deal - my supervisor paid for me and I got free packed lunches and got/stole LOTS of pens from the exhibits. I even won a jig-saw puzzle, which was pretty cool. Down-side was had to sit through HOURS and HOURS of seminars and not fall asleep.
  • Went on my FIRST ever pub crawl. Was called Oktoberfest - and went with members of a social group called "secret squirrel" (I'm not allowed to mention, because uni clubs aren't suppose to do and/or promote anything alcohol related). ;-) Was lots of fun, but, in my usual common sense style I didn't overdrink because I wanted sober up enough to dance. So it's still only once in my life I've been smashed.
  • Umm ... something else. Oh played lots of soccer.
  • Umm ... too tired to remember.
  • Oh! Flew to Sydney to surprise my uncle on his 50th birthday! Worked really well. My sister's birthday is also on the same day, so Mum and Jenny flew down to Sydney, but Mum didn't tell Jenny that I was coming, so I got to surprise her too. I think her exact words were: "what are you doing here". :-)
  • Oh - got re-elected as treasurer of uqdance for another year. Was very tempted to run for president, but *hopefully* I'll get to go to the US for a couple of months next year as part of my scholarship and so I don't think I can manage president. A guy called Ian is president next year, and a wonderful girl called Jane will be secretary. Had a great night with free pizza at our break-up party.
  • I think that's about it ... but have been doing lots of work basically.
